Anything Asimo in any avatar looks freakin’ awesome! This Arno bipedal robot a.k.a “LegoAsimo” by Arno van der Vegt is just another case in point. Controlled by three 3 NXT microcontroller bricks running NXC tethered out of sight, the bot has motors, 4 touch sensors, 5 tilt sensors and an ultrasonic sensor to facilitate the LegoAsimo to move like a bipedal robot. “The robot shifts his weight using its upper body weight along with its arms, which gives it a natural anthropomorphic look.” Follow the jump for a video showing the LegoAsimo abilities as a bipedal Lego robot or check LegoAsimo’s photostream on Flickr for images.
